Turning 20 tells the story of the 19-year-old Manu, who on the brink of his twentieth birthday navigates a kaleidoscope of his past memories through his present body. 

As Manu dreads his impending twentieth birthday, he is transported to an ominous liminal space where, in his 19-year-old body, he must brave the events of his childhood that spur the anxiety in him today. 

Written by Jorge Jaén Ruiz, Turning 20 tells a passionate coming-of-age story that rejects stereotypes and resists interpretation. By utilizing both surrealist and fantastical elements, the film works to challenge audience’s perfection of the human condition and reconsider the ways in which our past affects our future.
